Business Development Support – Entrepreneur Enabler Scheme 2017-05-19T09:55:06+00:00

Fermanagh & Omagh District Council will develop business mentoring focusing on innovative RE and energy storage technologies.  Entrepreneurship enabler schemes have proven to be successful and effective promotional tools in supporting the development of new businesses.  This activity will seek to develop a mentoring scheme that is specifically designed for the renewable energy business sector. The mentoring itself is a mechanism to market and disseminate business support and guidance (e.g. in selecting technologies/solutions, improving marketing, planning the business model, carrying out risk assessments, improving networks, and considering export opportunities) for new and existing companies. The scheme underlines the value and usefulness of mentoring and will allow businesses to access expert support with the appropriate advisory bodies.  In developing the GREBE business mentoring process, a generic mentoring support pack will be prepared and will encompass material from other work packages.

The Entrepreneur Enabler Scheme will be piloted with a total of 12 new and existing SMEs/Micro-scale businesses in the Fermanagh-Omagh area. The generic mentoring support pack will be used as a basis on which to prepare tailored packages to suit the needs of pilot participants.

Following the pilot scheme in Fermanagh/Omagh, the entrepreneurship enabler scheme will be rolled out transnationally across the NPA partner regions, where possible enabling the adoption and integration of good practices to existing mentoring processes.  The first stage of replication will be supported by participating organisations and their networks, but a transparent and open approach will be taken in promoting the scheme, so that it can be easily replicated across the entire NPA region.
